Leaning Tower of Orono - Orono, Ontario
It wasn't until my twenties that I discovered the profound joy of photography. Returning to my roots in Orono for a week, I set out with my camera, intent on capturing the essence of my hometown. Yet, despite my best efforts, the images I sought to preserve remained frustratingly out of reach. It wasn't until I realized that I was trying to photograph the past that everything changed. The next day, as I drove, I spotted the crooked water tower—a familiar sight from my childhood. Rather than attempting to recreate memories, I focused on finding a fresh perspective on a familiar subject. This photo, with its unique angle and story, quickly became my favorite of the week. It taught me that photography isn't about capturing what once was, but about embracing the beauty of the present moment.
