On Guard - Bangkok, Thailand
In the sweltering heat of Bangkok, I explored the old town, marveling at the Grand Palace and impressive temples. Seeking respite from the sun, I stumbled upon a soldier standing guard in a small outpost. Capturing the moment, I retreated to my hotel to cool off, leaving the dedicated guard to his duty. The way back was perilous. Getting on the back of a motorbike with a stranger, we careened through the bustling streets. Weaving through traffic, running red lights, swerving in and out of the wrong lanes. All without a helmet. I thought for sure this was going to be my last photograph.
